Connect Spotify

This is the magic step — it makes the connection free forever, with no limits, and it reads your Spotify desktop app, web player, AND phone. Takes about 3 minutes, once.

1. Open developer.spotify.com/dashboard and log in with your normal Spotify account.
2. Click Create app. Name it anything (e.g. My Now Playing). Description: anything.
3. For Redirect URI, paste this EXACT address and click Add:

Under Which API/SDKs are you planning to use?, tick Web API. Save.

4. Open your new app → Settings → copy the Client ID.

Paste this single code into the widget's Spotify connection code field (in the Settings dashboard, or the StreamElements field). That's the whole setup.

Keep this code private — it lets the widget read your now-playing. You can revoke access any time in your Spotify account → apps.
