ViperVex Setup Guide

Everything you buy arrives as an instant download. Find the section that matches your product and follow it. Most setups take under ten minutes, and none of them need design software or code.

Before you start, unzip your download. Right click the .zip file and choose Extract All. Work from the extracted folder, not from inside the zip, or your files will not load.

1. Interactive widgets

Widgets install as a single browser source and take about two minutes. The steps differ slightly between OBS, Streamlabs and StreamElements, so we keep the full walkthrough on its own page.

The short version: unzip the download, add a Browser source, tick Local file, select the widget's .html file, set the width and height listed on the product page, then click the gear icon on the widget and enter your Twitch channel name. Your settings save automatically and survive a refresh, a restart and a scene switch.

2. Overlay packs and screens

  1. Click + in Sources and choose Browser (or Media Source for video scenes).
  2. Tick Local file and select the file for the scene you are building, such as starting-soon or brb.
  3. Set Width 1920 and Height 1080.
  4. Right click the source and choose Transform, then Fit to Screen.

Build one OBS scene per screen: Starting Soon, Be Right Back, Ending and Offline. Switch between them as you stream.

Streaming at 720p?

Set your canvas first under Settings, then Video, then fit the source. Never scale the overlay by dragging, or the edges will blur.

3. Stream alerts

Alert packs import as widget themes.

Streamlabs

  1. Open Alert Box, then Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Import Widget Theme.
  3. Select the .zip from your download. Your alerts are live immediately.

StreamElements

  1. Open your Alertbox overlay.
  2. Choose the alert type, then upload the matching file for follow, subscribe, cheer, donation and raid.

4. Stinger transitions

  1. In OBS, find Scene Transitions at the bottom of the window.
  2. Click + and choose Stinger.
  3. Browse to the .webm or .mp4 file from your download.
  4. Set Transition Point Type to Time (Milliseconds) and enter 750.
  5. Switch scenes to test it.

Streamlabs uses the .webm version. Both formats are in every download.

5. Sub badges and bit badges

Badges upload directly to Twitch. You need Affiliate or Partner status.

  1. Open your Creator Dashboard.
  2. Go to Viewer Rewards, then Channel Points for sub badges, or Bits for bit badges.
  3. Upload each tier file. Every set ships pre sized at 18x18, 36x36 and 72x72 pixels, so no resizing is needed.

Kick uses the same 72x72 format, so the same files work there.

6. Emotes

  1. Creator Dashboard, then Viewer Rewards, then Emotes.
  2. Upload the 28x28, 56x56 and 112x112 versions of each emote.

Animated emotes ship as GIF and static ones as PNG. Both are included, and both work on BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ as channel emotes.

7. Channel point icons and stream deck icons

Channel points: Creator Dashboard, then Viewer Rewards, then Channel Points, then Manage Rewards. Select a reward and click Add Image. Icons are 256x256 PNG.

Stream deck: open the Elgato Stream Deck app, right click a button, choose Set Image and pick the 144x144 PNG.

Common problems

My overlay is blurry

You scaled it by dragging. Delete the source, add it again, and use Transform, then Fit to Screen.

The widget shows a dash instead of my follower count

That is intentional. The widget shows a dash when a number cannot be fetched rather than displaying a false zero. Check your channel name is spelled correctly in the settings panel.

Nothing appears when I add the file

You are probably loading from inside the zip. Extract the folder first and point the source at the extracted file.

My animated overlay is not moving

In the Media Source properties, enable Loop and turn off Close file when inactive.

The alert never fires

Test it from your alert platform first. If the test works but real events do not, reconnect your Twitch account in Streamlabs or StreamElements.
